Bailey Alexander
Aloha families! My name is Bailey Alexander. I moved to the island about a year ago after graduating from the University of Redlands in Southern California. My degree was in Public and Women’s Health and I minored in Sociology. During my four years at the university I gained a passion for Midwifery and hope to open a birthing center of my own one day. As for now I plan on getting my Doula certification in the fall. My ideal workspace is being with babies and their mothers in order to be of assistance to both their mental and physical health. My childcare experience has started from a young age, I’ve always taken care of and looked after my two younger brothers which eventually led to me starting a babysitters club with a close friend when I was 13. As I got older I started to take on more of a nanny role with families. I loved that this job included responsibilities like taking the kids to school/practices, helping with homework, prepping meals, housecleaning, and putting the kids to bed. While I’m with the kids I always make sure we have fun activities planned such as crafts, baking, going to the park, swimming, story telling, and playing with toys. I try to incorporate some of my passions and hobbies too such as roller skating and practicing meditations/yoga poses. My favorite thing about childcare is feeling like I’m tapping into my inner child and exploring imagination with the kids I’m with.
