These professionals are extremely passionate about caring for others & plan on making a life-long career out of doing so.
Our carefully, hand-picked Nanny will come to your home, hotel or accompany your family on excursions. With your permission she will take your children on excursions to the beach, pool, zoo, aquarium, etc. Oahu is a beautiful, fun-filled island. Kristina Subiono
Aloha, I’m Kristina! I have a BA in psychology and a graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu with an emphasis in School Counseling. This field is of great interest to me because I want to make a difference in students’ lives and offer support where they would have none otherwise. I believe in preparing students for their next journey, whether it be college, high school, or just the next grade. Offering a safe space where students can work through challenges ins an important service for our youth. I interned at both the elementary and high school, and had the opportunity to learn about students at all academic levels. My past work experience includes director of Operations as Easter Seals Hawaii Autism Division where I managed the day to day operations of the division. Prior to that, I worked as a Behavior Therapist at Easter Seals Hawaii. I worked with clients aging 3-22 years old. I was trained to implement behavior intervention plans, feeding, and toileting programs. I have worked with children the majority of my life and truly enjoy their company. They remind me that life can be simple if we let it. I have experience nannying and babysitting children 0-22 years old, and multiple children at once. As a nanny for a handful of families, my responsibilities included after school pick-ups and drop-offs for extracurricular activities, academics where needed, and meal prepping. I wanted to ensure that the kids enjoyed their summers so I planned summer fun activities like scavenger hunts, trampolines, and excursions to museums, parks, rock climbing, and the pool. I was with the most recent family I worked with for four years, and had the opportunity to watch their children grow. I believe in having fun based on a child’s interests. Some of my strengths in this include water play, creative crafts, teaching hula, and singing. I was extremely involved with my church’s (King’s Chapel) youth group. I was in charge of organizing fundraisers, camps and dinners for participants,. During my undergraduate program, I volunteered weekly in a kindergarten classroom for a year. I really value the trust exemplified by families when they put their children in someone else’s care. I will do my best to ensure that your children not only are safe with me, but that they thoroughly enjoy their time, and maybe even learn a thing or two. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
Sarah Franklin
Aloha! My name is Sarah! I have my bachelor degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Management from the University of Hawaii. I hope to one day work with kids as either an art teacher or a natural science teacher. I have a deep love and passion for both the environment and art, meaning my childcare style is to get the kids outside, playing games, running around and enjoying the day. And if the weather does not cooperate, getting creative with arts and crafts, coloring or teaching the kids to draw. I love to teach kids about the world around them, and see the excitement in their faces when they discover something new for themselves.
Growing up I had multiple small cousins that I would watch and play with, and into high school I began babysitting for friends and neighbors kids. I have multiple years of experience being a full time nanny for a family with two sets of twins, so I am accustomed to watching multiple children at once.
I also am a divemaster and worked for the University’s diving safety program. I am very comfortable in and around the water and I am CPR and first aid certified. I am creative, energetic, and love to create special moments and memories with the children in my care.
Anais Parker
Aloha! My name is Anais. I’m attending school and studying biochemistry. I’m in my early twenties, and I am born and raised in Hawai‘i. I’m the third child of four, and have been raised caring for children whether it be family, friends, those in my church congregation, or those in need. I love children and caring for others. I’ve always done childcare for family or people in our neighborhood because we are a tight-knit group. My experience includes a lot of babysitting for my church and our members, for services & date nights, including an 18 month church mission in Irvine, CA. I have been caring for children at group events for Aloha Sitters since 2017. I was quickly identified as having the qualities & skills needed to take on a Leadership position. As the Lead Childcare Provider I bring all the games, toys & crafts to keep as many as 50 children safe, educated & entertained for as many as 26 hours (spread over 3 day events). I follow an educational activities agenda, building the children emotional intelligence, resiliency, character growth, & we have a full anti-bullying campaign I take them through. The activities are disguised as fun, so the kids don’t even realize they are learning until the end. Haha. Having grown up on this island, I know a lot about Hawaiian culture that I can share with kids. I used to work for the Polynesian cultural center as a luau dancer and have danced almost my whole life with my aunty’s dance group. I dance hula and Tahitian. I’ve learned a lot about the land, including taro and poi. Additionally, I surf and love to spend time at the beach. I am Polynesian, Hawaiian, Portuguese, Japanese, Maori (my mother is from New Zealand), and Caucasian. Although I’m not fluent in Hawaiian, I can understand it. I am also patient, loving, fun, and focused on safety. I look forward to working with you!
Mandy Tardif
I was raised in northern New Hampshire, in copious amounts of snow, close to the Canadian border, so I am appreciating the warmth and sun of my new home in Hawaii now. Due to my love of all things creative and a natural talent for art, I graduated from PSU in New Hampshire, with a BA in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. Right after September 11, 2001, when the Twin Towers were attacked, I relocated to sunny California and resided there for many years. This was where I truly started to find and pursue my passion for art. This was also when I truly began to embark on a full time career as a freelance artist.
From teaching art classes in elementary schools to many years of nannying and face painting at hundreds of parties, I have a lot of experience with kiddos and have found that helping families out is a great compliment to my creative lifestyle. Plus I love kids. As far as titles go, I am a professional canvas painter, muralist, face painter, a children’s book illustrator, certified personal trainer and singer/songwriter. I am SUPER CREATIVE and I LOVE MUSIC so, if your little ones like the arts, they will love their time with me. I play guitar and ukulele (not professionally) and love to make up songs off the cuff with words I encourage children to give me. I also enjoy hiking, yoga, dancing and spending as much time in nature as possible.
I am not a consumer of a lot of technology and I do not watch TV or play video games. Although I have used them in the recent past, I prefer to stay away from things like social media sites as I find organic connections in real time much more satisfying, and enjoy doing “old fashioned” things like arts and crafts, picnics, drives to new places and creating songs and plays.
If there is anything else you would like to know, just ask. I want you to feel very comfortable knowing your precious ones are in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your family and hopefully becoming a part of it.
Kelsie Snow
Hi to all! My name is Kelsie and I’m currently in the process of earning my degree in music therapy with minors in psychology and American Sign Language. My goal is to become a music therapist who can also welcome the Deaf community. This profession will allow me to work with children and adults who are dealing with dysregulated emotions, trauma, mental health, memory loss, autism, etc.
I am currently working as an assistant teacher at the Early Education Center with Seagull Schools for the 2 year old classroom; I have been doing so since October of 2020. Over the past 5-6 years, prior to my job at the school, I cared for many children ranging from infant to eight years old for family and friends, as well as people met through care.com. Additionally, I have a lot of childcare experience from volunteering at my church. My mom was the choir director at our church since before I was born and I was always brought to choir practice. As I got older this led to me to doing volunteer work while my mom was doing her job! I grew up volunteering at my church caring for children whose parents were attending a service or choir practice. I also enjoyed directing the children’s choir for the Christmas services!
I have a great passion for music; I play a bit of guitar, ukulele, and piano. I love incorporating music into learning because of it’s ability to open up the mind in so many ways! I know an intermediate amount of sign language, but am on my way to being fluent. I think signing is a great thing to introduce to children because it not only teaches them another way to communicate, but also works on the fine motor skills young children are developing.
In my free time I enjoy doing yoga and surfing as much as possible! I love to spend time outdoors but can also enjoy a day indoors for arts and crafts or a movie.
Brittney Scharsch
Aloha parents, my name is Brittney. I am a fully vaccinated person and am currently working as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) and a Certified Nurse’s Aid. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I also have QBS and lifeguarding certification.
I’ve been around children my whole life. In addition to volunteer childcare work, I have 6 1/2 years experience working with children in a professional setting. I specialize in caring for severely behavioral/autistic children. I am the second to the oldest in a family of 8 children, so I have a lot of hands-on childcare experience helping my parents with my siblings. When I was in high school, my parents allowed me to babysit my younger siblings for extra cash while they ran errands or got a bite to eat.
I am born and raised on the island of Oahu. I love to cook/bake. I am an honest, hard-working person and I take a lot of pride in my time with children. Punctuality and reliability are very important to me. I am super kind and loving. I enjoy caring for people from newborn babies all the way up to the elderly adults.
Sasha Varney
Aloha,
My name is Sasha and I am in my twenties. I was born and raised here on O’ahu and live in the Kaimuki area. My mother is from Japan, so I can speak Japanese (I am not fluent, but can speak at a 4th-grade level and understand at the adult level). I am currently in the ED program at Kapiolani Community College and will be transferring to the UH program next year to acquire my bachelor’s in education. My main goal is to get licensed in both special and general elementary education so I can support a fully-inclusive classroom with a variety of students. When I was around 10 years old, I volunteered with my mother to help in the children’s care program at the local church every Sunday. This experience is actually what inspired me to choose my career path in childcare, which eventually led to education!
I also gained experience through my younger sister and her friends, who are 10 years younger than I am. I was the primary babysitter of her and her friends from when she was 5-12 years old for at least 2x a week. This past year, I have worked in an elementary school as a paraprofessional tutor and have supported children in grades K-3rd grade. This upcoming summer, I am going to be a Summer Fun program leader for ages 6-8, so I’ll be coming up with fun activities and games that I can share with the children I am babysitting as well! I love to draw, read, and paint, and I like to share these skills with children I am working with. I cherish the creative arts and wish to pass these skills down to the keiki so their imaginations can blossom. I also like taking the children outdoors to safe areas, such as the local park, and play games such as I Spy or a plant scavenger hunt! I love sparking innovation in children and getting them excited to learn. My priorities in any childcare setting are safety, respect, having fun, and being happy. I look forward to working with you and your keiki soon💕
Sarah Greenwood
Hi, I’m Sarah!
I’m in my thirties, a mother of two, and a psychology major at KCC. I’m currently working on my undergrad with the intention of transferring to UH. I want to focus on helping children with ADHD and other learning disorders, as well as their parents and educators, better understand their diagnosis, educational rights, and best practices to succeed in life. I currently work as a Registered Behavior Tech in behavioral support for children with autism and other intellectual disabilities. I love being able to make meaningful connections with kids and help them achieve their life goals.
Over the past 18 years, I have worked as a nanny for two different families, cared for my younger siblings, and babysat for friends, family and neighbors. I also grew up on a lake and worked as a lifeguard for two summers in high school, which has made me a very strong and confident swimmer. I’m very comfortable supervising water activities. My heart has a soft spot for kids of all ages, and I can make some pretty stellar animal noises and impressions. I love to sing, play ukulele, and find/create fun arts and crafts projects. We have been blessed to live in Hawaii and there are so many fun places to explore outdoors! Your trust is very important to me, and I understand that trusting someone with your children can be very difficult. My goal is to make you feel at ease leaving them in my care so you can focus on wherever life takes you while I am with them. I look forward to going above and beyond for you and your keiki!
Naomi Era
Aloha and Konichiwa,
My name is Naomi Era and it’s great to meet you! I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I am fluent in English and Japanese. My mother is American and my father is Japanese. I have a younger brother as well and they all still live in Japan. Most of my family are teachers and I came from a teacher’s background. My mom is currently an English professor who works at the University of Japan and my dad is a retired English high school teacher. My brother also works at the University of Japan.
I learned how to swim when I was two and later decided to teach swimming to children two years old and up. After a few years of doing that, I changed professions and became a teacher’s aide at an international preschool in Japan. We taught the children how to read and write English and also prepared their meals. I stayed there for a few years and decided it was time to follow in my family’s footsteps and become a teacher. I decided to get my infant and toddlers Associate’s degree in Hawaii. It took me six years of hard work but I finally got my degree and felt so proud to have finally earned it! While I was in college, I signed up to work with Honolulu Community College. They had a preschool in the community college (Keiki o ka aina). I learned more about how Japanese and American schools differ. It was there that I learned what my teaching style was going to be.
I have a wonderful husband named Robert who is a local Hawaiian boy from the island of Oahu. We got married in 2018 and live in a quiet condo right down the street from the University of Hawaii. Currently I work at a preschool in Hawaii Kai (Niu Valley). I am having an amazing time being a teacher to two-year-olds. In my free time I read a lot, watch movies, swim in my condo pool, and occasionally go to the ocean to relax. I also like to walk a lot.
I love to cook using all types of recipes. I like to listen and dance to music. I’m very responsible at my job and I take it very seriously while also having fun. I love teaching children new things because I learn things about myself while doing it. I adore what I do and I try my best.
I am very thankful that I have this opportunity to connect with your children. I look forward to working with them and creating some fun, engaging, and educational activities during the time I am with them.
Mahalo and Arigato,
Naomi Era
Katherine Lang
Aloha! My name is Katherine, but I go by Kate, and most of the kids I have cared for in the past called me Auntie Katie. I am a student at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa where I play volleyball. I am majoring in Political science with intentions to attend Law School. My dreams are to become a Contractual lawyer for professional athletes, and to begin a non-profit organization that takes care of children with early onset diseases such as leukemia and pediatric heart conditions. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old with my own little company called Mommy’s Helper! Ever since then, I fell in love with spending time with babies and children. I’ve coached numerous children’s aged teams at the high school I graduated from, the volleyball club I belonged to from age 12, and I even had the opportunity to tutor kids that were a few grades younger than I was when I was a senior in high school. My favorite childhood memory is working in the nursery as a volunteer at my church, so I decided to make a career during my college years out of my love for kids. I was on a recreational swim team when I was young and love the water, including surfing and other water sports. I have played volleyball since I was 6 years old and have an active lifestyle, which includes lots of recreational sports such as beach volleyball, basketball and baseball. I’m as happy to be active with kids as I am to be staying in, cooking dinner and watching a movie! I am easygoing and happy to help with whatever activities are preferred.
Toney Ryan
Aloha! My name is Toney Ka’ipo Ryan and I have a Bachelor degree in Leisure Science and Kinesiology, and a Masters degree in Social Work specializing in Health/Mental Health. I love ocean and beach activities like outrigger canoe paddling, stand up surfing, and volleyball. In my spare time, I coach canoe paddling club and volleyball with middle schoolers. I’ve also volunteered with Special Olympics, ocean and aina (land) clean up projects and Surfrider Foundation. I played piano for 5 years (8-13 yrs old). I can play the ukulele and taught basic ukulele lessons to elementary school children in summer fun. I love working with keiki and their ohana as I believe that they are the makeup of our community; and their health and happiness matters!
Kathryn Rose
Aloha My Friends:
My name is Kathryn Rose. I am an educator with the Department of Education (DOE), a coach, advocate, and servant to others. My credentials are Public Administration Justice, Minor in Political Science, Fashion Design, Business Entrepreneur, Special Education, Domestic Violence advocate and a child of the God. I spent over 25-years in weekly community service activities including homeless, seniors, youth programs and mission activities. I spent the first 18-years of life as an athlete. I then became a Fashion Designer, a buyer traveling from the north of Canada to southern California, and east to Asia and Australia (ultimately making the Hawaii Islands my home for 25-years), and owned 2 Wedding Stores. Of course, strong family values and raising 2 healthy Hawaiian born children changed everything. My goals became their education and rearing. I sacrificed career for family. My focus has been servicing community, families and church ever since. I teach the VALUE of FAMILY – “Heritage Kids.” The next generation is #1.
My daughter was Dyslexic and AD, so I returned to school for more education with 2000 hours in special needs which indeed changed my career to my current position which I love: HEALTH teacher for KMS, grade 6. I have been teaching 11-years from PreK to K12. I focus on Social Emotional Learning, Preventive programs, Self Esteem, Nutrition & Body Systems, good decision-making and setting goals for life. It is an amazing opportunity to give back the wealth of knowledge I have been given. Both of our children are healthy, responsible, college career oriented and financially independent of us.
Health is key. I walk or jog 6 miles on the #1 rated world beach of Kailua 4-6:00 am to catch sunrises and creation weekly. I grew up at the YMCA, attended brownies, girl scouts, 10-12 years of baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball and was an All-Star hockey player for 11 years. I am still a YMCA gym member, where I play tennis, swim, and coach today. I sing in the choir and solo to your babies.
I service Military families retreat events bi-weekly, caring for the children of our veterans who protect our country; and I sit for Hawaii visitor families’ weekly, nights and weekends, so parents may enjoy date night & the precious Hawaii Islands, I love so much!
Families entrust me with their new-born to teens. I serve at your request and offer not only in-room sitting, but also nature and adventure hikes to all the free hot spots in Waikiki, pool lessons, ocean beach days, and just about anything with safety as a number one factor. I have all standard CPR, annual background checks, DOE health prevention standards, and checks done annually, including updated COVID-19 rules followed.
Parents, children and others have best described me as, “Amazing, can we take her home mom, best teacher ever, best nanny, fun, energetic, calm, patient, professional, responsible, kind, a saint, the best toys, and a miracle maker calming anxiety parents and or child separation issues into safe and professional care”. I will send you live pictures of your child’s day with ROSE to make sure you have peace of mind!
Upon your booking, I will immediately RSVP and confirm, as well as day before or of arrival date pending your time zone to make sure we are on the same page. I will send a small GIF-bio of me to exchange phone numbers, hotel information, child names, pictures, special requests, child allergies or any other concerns you may have.
Synthia Mageo
Aloooooha! My name is Synthia. I have 4 beautiful children of my own. From a young age caring for other family members and watching other family care for myself and others, it comes natural caring for kids and knowing that all children are not the same. They are special in their own way just need to find out what catches their attention.
I’ve worked with Aloha Sitters since the beginning of 2017 and for most of that time I’ve been a Lead Sitter for the Group Child Care division, caring for a group as small as 2 to as many as 60 children at a time. I provide all the games, toys & crafts to keep the children safe, educated & entertained for as many as 26 hours (spread over 3 day events). We divide the children into 2 ages groups: 0-3yrs & 4-12yrs. I’m typically assigned to ages 0-3yrs. I am very comfortable with baby’s & toddlers; following their routine feeding/sleeping schedule, comforting them, providing positive distractions so they don’t notice that Mom is away & rocking them to sleep. The crafts & games that I play with the little ones assists with developing their social emotional, physical & cognitive skills. When assigned to ages 4-12 years, I follow an educational activities agenda, building the children emotional intelligence, resiliency, character growth, & we have a full anti-bullying campaign I take them through. The activities are disguised as fun, so the kids don’t even realize they are learning until the end. Haha. It is a task but the outcome is always awesome. Thinking of different ways to keep all the kids happy and entertained while being apart from their parents can be challenging but it’s a challenge I look forward to overcoming to the best of my abilities.
I have my CPR and AED certificate. I also work at an Elementary school in the office and recently did a training on administrating An epi pen and the generic brand. I was born & raised on Oahu. I speak a little Hawaiian & very few words of Laotian & Samoan. I also play the ukulele.
I look forward to meeting your family and helping make your time on vacation memorable!

Aloha! My name is Judy and I had the great good fortune to leave my hometown, New York City,
in 1978 to move to Honolulu. I am the mother of two Eurasian children who were very lucky to
have spent their magical childhoods in this sacred, beautiful place. Childhood is the foundation
on which a child’s social, emotional, wellness and spiritual lives are built. Caring for young
children along their journeys is a joy as well as a privilege. I take your child’s safety very
seriously and am extremely sensitive to their needs and feelings. I am CPR/AED certified and
adhere to all protocols to keep myself and your child safe during the pandemic.
I was one of 6 children who had to learn how to keep my younger siblings clean, safe, and
entertained by the time I was 8 years old. Our family attended Church services where I learned
core values: honesty, integrity, respect, charity. I believe it is my job to model those values for
children so that they may be prepared for the many responsibilities ahead.
My first job at the age of 14 years was at the New York Public Library. Being a book worm, it was
my teen dream job. The children’s librarian always requested me to be assigned to the
Children’s Room. She noticed the way I interacted with children. I found that I could interest
little ones in reading. In 1983 I began reading aloud in public schools throughout Honolulu. I
also write poetry. I designed workshops to teach Middle School students how to express their
feelings in rhyme.
In addition to being a literacy advocate, I am certified by the Institute for Multi-Sensory
Education to teach dyslexic children ages 5-8. I provide private tutorials to support struggling
readers. During the pandemic, I homeschooled two boys, ages 4 and 6 years old. Below is a brief
testimonial from their grandparents.
Amber Rexford
Aloha! My name is Amber Rexford. I was born and raised in California but had the dream of moving to beautiful Hawai’i. I finally made it here at the beginning of 2020! I have my B.S. degree in Business Administration, but I am currently pursuing my teaching credential. My career aspiration is to be an elementary school teacher because I am passionate about learning, teaching, and working with kids. I also currently work as a substitute teacher. I have worked with kids for 14+ years in various positions that include babysitting, working at summer camps, coaching tennis lessons, and volunteering for the Special Olympics. My experience also includes working as a registered behavior technician for children with Autism and ADHD where I focused on resolving challenging behaviors for kids with autism, and teaching them proper social and communication skills. I have experience with kids of all ages and abilities. I am very passionate about teaching children new skills as well as keeping things fun for them with crafts, games, sports, etc. My hobbies and interests outside of my work include hula and Tahitian dancing, tennis, swimming, kayaking, hiking, baking, and photography. Additionally, I’m very interested in learning foreign languages, so I am currently studying French as well as American Sign Language. I’m a very patient person and I place high importance on children’s safety and well-being. I very much look forward to meeting you, taking care of your children, and making sure they have a fun, safe time with me!
Nicole Pfeiffer
Aloha! My name is Nicole Pfeiffer. I am in my thirties, and I am originally from Long Island, New York. I have been living in Hawaii for five years and I currently live right outside of Waikiki. I have been babysitting since I was practically a kid myself, and I have worked with kids with Autism and other disabilities doing behavior therapy for eight years. I bring a wealth of knowledge in child behavior (Applied Behavior Analysis) and child development to my childcare. I am therefore comfortable working with children with a variety of disabilities. I currently nanny for three kids ages 1, 3, and 7, and I am looking for more babysitting opportunities to supplement my income. Right now I am working on a Masters in Social Work online through Western New Mexico University. My professional aspirations include becoming a parent coach (a life coach for parents!), developing my own parenting class curriculum, becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and practicing psychotherapy with adults. Outside of working with kids, I am a professional musician and I play around Oahu with my band, Trouble in Paradise. I sing and play ukulele. I enjoy all that nature has to offer and I am very passionate about Hawaii, its history, and its culture. I speak intermediate German and Spanish. I am an attentive and enthusiastic babysitter, and I love having fun! I call babysitting “mom practice” because all my life all I have truly wanted is to raise children, and I wish to foster/adopt at least four children in my lifetime. I hope to get to meet you and your family!
Samantha Nakahira
Aloha, my name is Samantha Nakahira. I was born and raised in Kāne’ohe and currently work at Mānoa Heritage Center where I give education tours to children and adults. I plan service learning activities with the children to work in Manoa Heritage Center’s 3.5 acre native garden, where I teach them about Native Hawaiian plants, Hawaiian culture, the history of our islands, and why it’s important to mālama ‘āina and have a relationship with the land. I love working with children and it’s truly a joy to see their faces light up when they learn something new that’s interesting for them! I have a BA in Art with a focus in graphic design, and also have two Undergraduate Certificates: Women’s Studies and Peace and Conflict Education. My First Aid/CPR certifications are current.
I was also an assistant summer school teacher for kindergarteners for two years, one summer at Ben Parker Elementary School and the other at Kaneohe Elementary School. This was during the summers before my Junior and Senior years of high school. My responsibilities were to assist the teacher in helping the kids with their homework, supervising them, and doing activities with them. I have 8 younger cousins and two younger sisters who were 5-13 years younger than me that I would babysit regularly while they were infants/children. I learned a lot as the eldest female cousin of the family!
I’m also a regular volunteer group leader for Protect & Preserve Hawaii, a non-profit that is working to restore the native flora in Pia Valley. Many of the groups I lead include high school students, and I enjoy teaching them about our native ecosystems. I’ve also served two Americorps terms: in 2014-2015 I worked at the The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, and in 2020-2021 I served with Kupu (a conservation leadership development program, where my host site was Mānoa Heritage Center).
My career aspiration is to go back to school to study Bioengineering. I have a deep appreciation for the environment, especially our home here in the islands, and would love the opportunity to create mechanisms that would allow us to perpetuate the well-being of our environment and native species. It’s also a lifelong aspiration for me to educate our youth and inspire them to see the potential they have to be the change in the world they would like to see.
I additionally have six years experience as a cook, most notably at the Sheraton Waikiki, the Pineapple Room, Sekiyas, and Whole Foods. If your children enjoy cooking, gardening, and arts & and crafts, please consider choosing me as your next babysitter!
Nora Moran
Hello families! My name is Nora. For the past 6 years I have worked full-time as a nanny, babysitter, and tutor for many different families all over the state of California. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University in May of 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I recently moved to Oahu and I hope to continue working with kids and families for as long as I can, and possibly enter into the field of education in the future. My Sociology studies really highlighted for me how important raising up good future generations is for society. This is something I am very passionate about. My childcare experience up to this point has included both short and long term positions with kids as young as newborns to young adults with special needs. Before moving to Oahu I worked as an on-call babysitter for an agency in Orange County, CA which allowed me to meet new families almost every week, and have many fun adventures with the children I cared for. I have also been paired with families long term in the past, one as long as 4 years! Some families I have been with now even consider me a part of their family, which is why I love my job so much! Being able to work this closely with children and watch them grow is a truly priceless experience.
My volunteer work includes working in classrooms as a teacher aide. I took 2 college courses that required me to work with groups of students in the 4th and 5th grade: helping with and grading assignments, creating and teaching lessons, and assisting with playground supervision. I also did an internship in high school where I worked on a ranch for adults and high school students that have autism. I assisted the students with assignments and helped lead the adults in their jobs caring for the ranch.
I am a very patient, extroverted person and I love working in this field because of the relationships I am able to build. I also love being around animals, as well as being active during my free time with activities such as swimming, surfing, yoga, and slack-lining. One of the things I absolutely love about working in childcare is getting to incorporate hobbies that my kids also love into my everyday work life, whether that’s playing the ukulele, swimming, making bracelets, painting, or doing other fun crafts! I look forward to meeting you 🙂
Stephanie Liu
Aloha! My name is Stephanie, and I would be honored to take part in helping your child create fond and lasting memories of their visit to Hawai’i! I have the following degrees: BA from University of California Santa Barbara (Sociology and Education Major), MS from Johns Hopkins University (Elementary Education), and MA from New York University (Higher Education and Student Affairs). As a former K-12 educator, I have worked with a wide range of kids. I previously taught middle school & high school at Pahoa High and Intermediate on the Big Island of Hawai’i, taught kindergarten at Kealakehe Elementary, and have privately sat newborns-infants working with various families for long periods of time. Additionally, I worked in after-school programs. I’ve taught English, Math, Science, History, and Social Emotional Learning. In my profession, I analyzed data and standards, and created learning plans. Making learning fun helps children concentrate and stay engaged. My volunteer experience includes participation at a surfers healing event on the Big Island which took children with autism out into the water. My philosophy working with kids is centered around joy-based learning and leaning into their interests/skills/strengths. My babysitting style is a ‘choose your own adventure type’! I love to connect with children. Some fun facts about me are: I grew up in CA and lived in NYC for a couple of years, arts & crafts is my jam, movement brings me joy (yoga and dancing), and I love the outdoors (hiking & swimming). I’m certified in Yoga Sculpt, as well as CPR for both infants and adults. Please let me know if you have any other questions, & thank you for your consideration as a nanny!
Alicia Paige
Hi! My name is Alicia Paige. I am 22 years old and grew up on the island of Oahu. I have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and I am BLS (CPR) certified through the American Heart Association. I love caring for children of all ages and finding things that may interest them such as music, art, hiking, going to the beach, etc. I have played soccer since I was nine and I go jogging regularly so I know I can keep up with energetic kids. I have a little sister who I grew up caring for and she was part of the reason I wanted to become a nurse caring for young children. I volunteered for my church in childcare and regularly watched kids during church services and Bible studies. I grew up with my mother speaking Japanese and even attended a Japanese school for a short period of time so I can understand and speak conversationally. Growing up in Hawaii, I learned to dance hula and I love going to the beach. I am often amazed at how quickly children can learn things and love to teach them as much as I can. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
Stettson Tetley
Aloha! My name is Stettson. I am in my late twenties and I love working with children of all ages! Growing up, I was a competitive dancer and as soon as I entered high school, I started assisting classes and quickly became a teacher. I taught core values such as perseverance, teamwork, and positivity. After graduating, I attended Idaho State University but continued teaching dance to all ages. It didn’t take long for me to realize that being around kids was my happy place and when I was offered my first nanny position, it was impossible to say no. Since finding my passion of caring for children, I have worked as a nanny doing part time hours, full time live-in hours, and worked for an agency in Los Angeles, California as an on-call nanny for 2 years. Because of the variety of jobs I’ve had with children, I have become very experienced with ages 1 month to 14 years old and have learned how to quickly adapt to many different schedules and guidelines. I am CPR/First Aid certified and my background check is current. I am very family oriented and it’s my goal to make every child I work with feel valued and cared for.

I am super enthusiastic about play and love to keep busy and stay active. Renee Kinchla
Hi, my name is Renee Kinchla! I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Honolulu after graduating from Cornell University. Currently, I work for the University of Hawaii in natural resource planning and environmental health and safety. I’m very familiar with Oahu’s unique landscape, plants, and geology and can legit answer the million questions some kids have about “what is this thing” or “where does sand come from” (sometimes it’s not what you expect!). When I was younger, I worked at a children’s library and summer program where I had to create original craft/entertainment for groups of kids (3 to 11). Now that I have reached “auntie” age I have been babysitting my friend’s and teammates’ kids so that they can have some nights to go out! I like to hang out with kids outdoors because it’s usually more interesting and fun! However, I have developed weird indoor craft skills like making enormous and elaborate cardboard Halloween costumes since my mom was an elementary art teacher. One of my favorite hobbies is roller skating, and I am also a confident open ocean swimmer/casual surfer who is knowledgeable about ocean conditions. My goal is always to have fun, and be safe doing it!
Thalia Rodriguez
Aloha, my name is Thalia Rodriguez. I am CPR/First Aid Certified & have returned a clean background check. I am currently enrolled in college to become a Mathematics teacher. While working at OC Montessori Academy and International Christian Montessori, my responsibilities included managing day to day classroom activities, structured lessons, planning and implementing a curriculum that targeted different ages of child development, and designing fun and educational activities for children. I appreciate working with kids, and watching them grow and have fun. I am a good swimmer and I swim frequently at the beach. I play softball and soccer and enjoy hiking and outdoorsy activities. I am CPR and first aid certified, background checked and fingerprinted. I am also fully vaccinated. I have many hours of experience with newborns up to teenagers. I appreciate having the opportunity to contribute to each child and family I work with! My volunteer experience includes working at my church’s nursery for a year with the four year olds. I also volunteered throughout both middle school and high school with special needs children. During my seventh grade summer of middle school I volunteered and helped run a special needs summer camp. During high school I was a peer assistant in a special education class for a year along with tutoring a kindergartner who had mental and physical disabilities due to brain cancer.
I am new to Hawaii and am originally from Arizona. In Arizona I worked for a childcare company, nannied, and babysat for families. I completed two years of college and all of my nursing prerequisite courses at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I am going to finish out my schooling at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in order to earn a Bachelor’s Science in Nursing degree. My passion is to help people heal so that they can accomplish their life’s purpose. I believe that life is way too short to not feel good and healthy. My goal is to become a pediatric nurse so that I can dedicate my life to helping kids become and stay healthy so that they can soak up every moment of “being kids.” I take every action I make to heart, and will be sure your children feel loved, heard, and nurtured as I care for them and manage your environment while you are away.
Tina Adams
Aloha! My name is Tina Adams, and I go by Ms. Tina or Auntie Tina.

I have been a non-conventional college student for some time, and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in General Business Administration from the University of Hawaii West Oahu this December.
I currently tutor elementary school-aged children in their homes in English and math. I am also fluent in Spanish, and enjoy speaking it whenever possible (hablo Espanol, y me encanta practicarlo!). My husband and I plan to move to Mexico someday where I would like to tutor children in English. While my husband was stationed in Korea for two years, I was a speaking teacher part-time at a Korean English School. I tutored a student in English and math after school at Osan Elementary for one school year. Additionally, I babysat two elementary school-aged kids before and after school for two single military moms; and babysat the base children as needed (date nights, mom’s days out, etc.) for the entire two years there.
I am a patient, loving, adventuresome caretaker, and my many children and parents have always been 100% satisfied with the care I’ve provided for their little ones. I believe children have so much potential and with the right guidance, they can reach the stars!

Morgan Tomlinson
Aloha, my name is Morgan Tomlinson and I currently reside in beautiful Kaneohe, HI. I was born and raised in southern California, but I moved to Hawaii to be closer to my family. I have been loving it ever since as Hawaii has given me so many wonderful opportunities. I’m in my late twenties and a recent college graduate from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM). I studied Elementary Education while at UHM, and I am passionate about education and health. I also love to travel, hike, and work with children. I have been working in education/childcare for over 5 years and have developed a love for working with and teaching children. In the future, I plan to go back to school to become a pediatric nurse so that I may make a meaningful impact on children and our community as a whole. My journey in education/childcare began at Huakailani School for Girls in early 2017. For a year and a half, I worked closely with the teachers and students at Huakailani School for Girls. During my time there, the teachers taught me valuable lessons about working with children and the importance of the teaching profession. I learned how to connect with students, to be understanding of a diverse group of children, and the importance of interactive teaching. In addition, the time that I have spent working with, learning from, and teaching students confirmed my aspiration of working with children. As I begin and further my career, I am overjoyed to take the experiences and knowledge I obtained throughout my time at UHM and the Hawaii DOE and support families around Oahu. When I’m babysitting, I love to take children outside to play, explore arts and crafts, and engage in other entertaining activities all with the parents’ approval. For example, going to the park, the beach, etc. I very much look forward to meeting you and caring for your children.
Abbygail Jared
Aloha, my name is Abbygail. I moved here to Honolulu HI from Spokane WA last year to further my education in the study of marine biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have been a nanny for many families back on the mainland since I was 14 and always enjoy the time I get to spend with the kids I take care of. During my year here on Oahu I have researched and learned about the history and mythology of the island. I enjoy the natural beauty of Oahu. I’m an avid snorkeler and hiker and I am getting my scuba certification soon. Safe and informative outdoor activities are my forte, as I love to help encourage a curiosity of nature. During these activities I love to observe and document the diverse ecology of the island. I have played roller derby for the past 9 years of my life. I have experience teaching children as young as 4 to roller skate safely. I am also interested in the performing arts. I sang in choirs for 6 years and have the ability to teach singing skills and how to read and write sheet music. I am currently in the process of learning how to play the ukulele. I am learning how to speak Hawaiian and Spanish, and I can speak conversational French. I look forward to getting to know your family!
Emma Sharp
Aloha! My name is Emma Sharp and I am a junior studying computer science at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. As much as I enjoy coding, in my free time you’ll find me on or in the ocean. I work as a scuba diver and often volunteer my skills towards local marine conservation efforts. I also love to sail and am a competitive open water swimmer. My childcare experience and love for kids goes back as long as I can remember. I am the oldest of three girls, so taking care of children has always been second nature to me because my responsibilities with my sisters started so young. Growing up, I volunteered with the nonprofit organization St. Vincent de Paul for many years, where I was able to take care of homeless and impoverished kids while their parents worked and also helped to throw them holiday and birthday parties. Additionally, I participated on a weekly basis in childcare at church, school, and with families around my neighborhood. My favorite opportunity, however, was when I volunteered as a swim instructor to teach refugee kids from Africa and the Middle East how to swim and be safe around water. I’m very passionate about childhood drowning prevention and am so grateful that I’ve been able to use my love for swimming for good. Professionally, I have worked as a babysitter and nanny for almost 2 years now with over fifty different families. This has allowed me to gain plenty of experience taking care of kids from every age group and in every way. I’ve found that my favorite thing to do with kids is what THEY love to do. Watching their smiles light up as they give me a tour of their favorite toys, paint a picture of their family, dance and sing around the house, or snuggle up with a book before bedtime will forever warm my heart. I am so looking forward to meeting you and your lovely kiddos and to all the fun memories we’ll make together! Mahalo nui loa!

I love Hawaii and have made it my home. I am a mature, responsible, reliable and cheerful person! For many years, I have worked in pediatrics and have also gained experience in the medical field. I have extensive experience as both live- in and live- out nanny. I simply love children and enjoy caring for them!
Iris Martinez
Hello! My name is Iris Martinez, and I was born and raised in California! A random life goal of mine is to be a polyglot one day! I speak English, Spanish, and have a background in French. Currently, I am teaching myself Korean. Also, I am a volunteer in a pigeon community where I am being educated in pigeon and am learning the language and culture. I dabble here and there with the guitar, piano and ukulele and like to learn about music theory. I love to travel and like geography, I also like to learn about different cultures and history was one of my favorite subjects in school. My mother was a child caregiver and was my initial introduction into the nanny world. I began sitting for date nights and worked my way up to overnight sitting for multiple children for multiple days. I am a curious person and like to learn! My characteristic strengths are love, kindness, creativity, safety and advocacy for children. For this reason, I have taken a lot of different routes when it comes to school. I have an AA in social science, and a bachelor’s in teaching English as a second language.Throughout this time, I have always found my way back to being a nanny. I love the innocence of children; how big the world is and how much they constantly take in! I try to be the type of caregiver I would have wanted as a child. The last few years I have worked with a few families and have worked with an agency in the bay area. During my time in the last agency, I gained a lot of experience from working with different children of different ages, needs and temperament daily. Learning to adjust to a different child in a different home every day was a challenge but something I believe I gained skills and insight from. I have cared for children between 5 months to up to 12 years of age. My responsibilities have been anywhere from diaper changing, feedings, teaching a child how to read, helping with homework, school and activities drop offs and pickups, staying overnight, light cleaning and feeding pets in the home. I am naturally a creative person and become a child when I am with children. I use my imagination to keep children entertained– anywhere from making up our own games, drawing, music, mazes, puzzles, obstacle courses, etc.!
Heather Kane- Mahiai
Aloha kākou! My name is Heather Kāne-Mahiʻai. Please allow me to share a brief description about myself and my values.
In my culture, ʻohana (family) traditionally includes our immediate family and extends further into our surrounding community. Therefore, it has always been a personal value to care for my community, including its members and its visitors. From youth, I have been committed to caring for everyone, especially our keiki (children). I wholeheartedly believe our keiki our the furture. For this reason, nurturning healthy children within a healthy community is my passion.
Above all, I am family-oriented. I grew up in a fairly large family. I am amongst the oldest of eleven children (specifically, the third-born). So, I have been around children most of my life. At an early age, I learned the common basics of child rearing (i.e. feeding, diapering, soothing, etc.). By sixteen, I was entrusted the responsibility of caring for family members’ and neighbors’ children independently (including infants and toddlers). In high school, I volunteered as a tutor at a Native Hawaiian charter school for about a year. As a tutor, I supervised 5-8 students (ranging from PreK-5th grade) and assisted them with math and reading homework. After high school, I pursued a degree in Creative Writing with the aspiration of building a creative arts center for children and families in my hometown. And in recent years, I have been working in Human/Social Services. For about four years, I worked as a Family Support Worker and Child Development Specialist. I worked closely with children. In these roles, I provided parenting education and facilitated developmentally appropriate parent-child activities to help nurture positive parent-child interactions and strengthen families. Today, I am a graduate student at Chaminade University of Honolulu pursuing my Masters’ in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. After completing my program, I intend to continue my work with children and families because ultimately, constructing a safe haven for children still remains my definitive goal. While on my current academic journey, I am learning and growing in every environment. So, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with your children. Please know that safety is also my primary concern. So, I will ensure your keiki are provided a safe and trusting environment.
Sarah Weible
Since high school, she has been working with children and helping to babysit younger children who were friends of the family. In college, Sarah was a Youth Ministry Intern and developed curriculum for the children while tending to youth from grades 6-12 and the nursery- age children. Nalani Ravelo
Aloha kakou! My name is Nalani, I’m in my early 30’s, and I was born and raised here on the island of Oahu. In 2018 I earned my B.A. degree in psychology and in 2020 I completed the national emergency medical response course to become an EMT, so I am comfortable and confident in emergency situations. I also decided to continue my education by studying STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) with online classes. I currently work as a behavioral specialist for children with autism in schools as well as homes. Currently I am working in a preschool but have worked with children from ages 3 all the way to 19.
Coming from a big family, childcare has been a natural part of my life. From the age of 12 I have been babysitting my nieces, nephews, cousins, hanai family, friends, and neighbors. It has been such a joy to watch them grow, learn, and create lasting memories together! In my free time I love to enjoy nature. From the mountains to the ocean, there is always something fun to do! I would love to show you my 10 minute waterfall hike! Or maybe planting kalo (taro) at my cousin’s farm. Then there is the ocean! Growing up, we were always at the beach; surfing, snorkeling, fishing, diving, and more. As an adult, at least twice a week I swim with friends and family to flat island in Kailua. I would love to share these experiences with your family as well.
Trianna
Hello my name is Trianna. I’m from Southern California and I’m in my twenties. I moved to the island in 2017 and have fallen in love with the “island life”. I have received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am currently in my last years of nursing school at Chaminade University. I stay busy and active with fitness (I have lost 70+ pounds and am always moving toward my next goal). I started babysitting in high school. Childcare has always played a role in my life. I’m comfortable with kids of all ages. I plan on continuing my care for children as I become a pediatric nurse someday. I have a huge heart for children and feel that working with kids is the most rewarding job there is.
Kristen Jones
Aloha! My name is Kristen. I work with children because I love their energy/heart. They’re so free and curious about what the world has to offer. I too enjoy exploring the world and all its many opportunities for adventure. The mutual desire keiki and I share of living life to the fullest is what tends to invite children into feeling comfortable with me. I love being a mentor to keiki and leading as an example that you can be anything you want as long as you work hard and believe in yourself. Not only am I a nanny, but I’m a teacher as well! I worked at the Montessori school of Maui as the lead after-school teacher for two years. I also created and lead curriculum that taught children ages 3-6 about social skills and self expression through art. I loved every second of it. Since moving from Maui to Oahu, I currently work at a Preschool alongside another teacher, preparing 4-5 year olds for Kindergarten! When nannying, one of my favorite activities to do with kids is taking them to the beach. I grew up on Maui so I learned how to swim at a young age. I had swimming lessons, yet playing at the beach every week has been my main teacher at learning how to be confident in the water. I can dive, tread water, and swim in strong currents very well. If your child LOVES water, art or fort building I’m definitely the nanny for you! Movie nights, hide-n-go seek and nerf gun fights have been my specialty as well, so whatever they’re into, we’ll have fun! I’ve nannied professionally for 6 years, going on 7. As a young teen, I started volunteering in church to help with the various children’s ministry classes (helping keiki ages 2-8). Once I became of age, I started nannying professionally and have loved it since the start! I’m currently working on my CDA credential and enrolling in courses to continue educating myself on child care— you can never learn too much!
Julia Herrmann
Aloha! My name is Julia and I am a student at University of Hawaii Manoa. I will be earning a BS in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science after this year and hope to pursue a career in health and wellness. Since I was young, I have always been very active and loved being outdoors. In my spare time, I can be found surfing, running, going to the beach, doing yoga, or hiking. I feel like this translates very well to childcare services, as I have a lot of fun playing with children, keeping them on their feet and moving, while also finding a balance with rest and relaxation, as rest is vital to any individual’s overall well-being. I’ve been babysitting for about 9 years and am comfortable with children of all ages. In the past, I have been very engaged with countless volunteer and outreach opportunities locally and internationally, both involving children, and I truly have a passion for people. I love forming connections and creating friendships not only with kids, but also their families, and take great pleasure in hearing their stories. I’m super flexible and go with the flow, thus I am confident I can accommodate almost any need or preference. I’m looking forward to meeting you and having a blast with your kids!
Kamaile Lopes
Aloha! My name is Kamaile and I am in my twenties. I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Once I start working my full time nursing job I want to do Pediatric nursing. I was born on the island of Kauai and have also lived in Arizona for 7 years. I have been living on Oahu for about 10 years now. I am a mix of Hawaiian, Tahitian, Portuguese, Filipino, Spanish, Scottish, French, Irish, German, and Chinese. I come from a big family with a total number of 14 siblings that include my half, step, and full siblings. I play a huge role in helping to raise my younger siblings and nieces and nephews. I love being that person to offer them love, guidance, and support. I have always enjoyed spending time with children and helping to foster their growth and development. Over my many years of babysitting, people would describe me as an easy going, enthusiastic, optimistic, trustworthy, and responsible adult. While babysitting I like to encourage children to safely explore their environments, while also creating a nurturing and uplifting space. In my free time I enjoy surfing, hiking, and hanging with friends and family. During my high school years I was on the sailing team and I also got my scuba license during that time as well. I’m very passionate about exploring the natural beauty of this earth and spending time outdoors. I’m looking forward to meeting your family and can’t wait for the experiences we will share together! Mahalo!
Makenna Given
Aloha! I’m Makenna. I am in my twenties and I am from sunny Palm Springs, California! I found my passion for childcare at a super young age. I lived for caring for my dolls as my own children and bringing them everywhere I went since I was 3. When it came time to start raising some money for myself, I put flyers out in my neighborhood at just 13 years old and started my own little babysitting company! I loved it so much that I just knew it was what I was always meant to do. I then got accepted into California State University San Marcos and started towards getting my degree in elementary education. Since moving for college and doing most of it online, I have become a full-time nanny and have worked for several more families throughout the past few years. I’ve had the opportunity to watch over infants, toddlers and kids all the way up to tweens. I’ve had families take me on vacation with them, have me do household chores, make meals for their kids, take them to swim lessons, therapy sessions, sports practices, activities such as beaches, pools, parks, zoos, amusement parks, museums, have them learn to be potty trained, homeschooled, and even sleep trained. I worked for some families for a minimum of a year as well as having multiple families for occasional sitting, some of them having kids with special needs or sets of twins. I have also volunteered at multiple childcare summer camps such as church camps and gymnastic camps, being in charge of up to 10 kids at a time! Over the years, I have grown a fond connection towards the littles and am taking a gap year off school to move to Hawaii, get my doula certification to learn more about newborns, and nanny in a dream location. I know that no matter what path I decide to go down, I am always meant to work with kids. I am nurturing, loving, creative, positive and determined! I love playing with kids, making up games, going to fun places and helping them learn and grow. Some fun facts about me are that I was a cheerleader all my life and became cheer captain in high school which led me into leadership organizations. I also have a strong passion for singing/acting and always played music/performed growing up. I’m so excited for what this next adventure holds and I cannot wait to meet your keikis!
Ella Smith
Hello! I am Ella. I have been babysitting and nannying for 10 years. I started when I was 15 babysitting for my younger sister. After that I worked locally in my town with families and with my local dance school and babysat a full range of children of all ages. I absolutely adore children and believe they are the best thing on this earth. I will be finishing my graduate degree in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine with a focus in family practice. My goal is to treat whole families including children because acupuncture, Chinese medicine and massage therapy are all very beneficial to children but often overlooked. Helping children by relieving any physical or mental pain they have is my goal in life. I look forward to meeting you and caring for your precious children!

Madison Burt
Hi everyone! I’m Maddie! I’m in my twenties and I recently graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Human Science and a minor in Psychology. I began babysitting for families in Washington, D.C. in 2019 and since then have made many great relationships with families. Unfortunately, moving to Hawaii meant saying goodbye to them but I am so excited to be here! I was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Hawaii only a few weeks ago- I already love it here! I have watched children of all ages (4 months- 14 years old) and have cared for up to 4 children at once. During my time babysitting I love playing sports, doing arts and crafts, cooking/baking and other fun activities with the kids. Most of the time I leave it to their imagination to help plan out what activities we should get involved with. This past summer I worked as a Behavioral Specialist at a school specifically designed for kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities with ages ranging from 10-18 years old. I absolutely loved my job and all the relationships I built with the kids. It made me realize that I want to pursue a career in clinical or school psychology with a specific focus on children! Kids have so much joy and love to offer which is why I love working with them. Their imagination and excitement for the world is incomparable. While I’m in Hawaii I’m volunteering for the RYSE Youth Homeless Shelter as a research assistant. I’m thrilled to see what O’ahu has to offer for me and I cannot wait to meet you all! I look forward to making lasting memories with your kids during their time in Hawaii!

Caroline Roser
Aloha! My name is Caroline, and I am very much looking forward to getting to know you and your family! Originally from Maryland, I moved to O’ahu 3 years ago to study Earth Science at the University of Hawai’i after completing a gap year program, where I split time in South Africa, Ecuador, and Cambodia. During this time, I worked with children in many different settings – from teaching English (as pictured, with my class!) and leading summer camps, to providing sewing and acting lessons and organizing many field days! My love of caring for children has only grown since I first started babysitting over 10 years ago for families in my hometown. I am the oldest of 4 children, so I developed a love for caretaking early on. I currently serve in my church’s keiki program as a Sunday school teacher for preschool and elementary aged children. I have experience with newborns up through pre-teens and have practice with responsibilities ranging from diaper changing and making bottles, to fort building, crafting, and playing games! I am confident that I can create an equally fun and safe environment for your children, keeping them entertained and occupied until your return. I grew up in and around the water and have babysat for many families at the pool and on the beach. I am scuba and CPR certified and a very strong swimmer, and if watching your children in one of these settings, will of course practice every safety precaution possible. I have a great ability to stay calm in high stress situations and am confident in my ability to navigate an emergency, if one were to arise. I am proficient in speaking Spanish and while I’m not specially trained in singing or dancing, I’m always down for some karaoke or freeze dance to your kids’ favorite songs! I have also taken a multitude of Hawaiian studies classes and would love to impart some of my knowledge of this special island onto your family during your time here. Outside of school, I work as a silversmith and teach jewelry-making classes to both children and adults! I would consider myself a very creative person, and because of this, I find myself able to make fun out of any situation – with or without any toys available. I have a great love for the outdoors and adventure and spend my free time hiking, diving, and exploring O’ahu. I would consider myself a very loving, energetic, and empathetic person, and for these reasons, I know your kids will have a blast during our time together! I look forward to meeting you soon! ☺

Sophie Mangan-Sandler
Aloha My name is Sophie. I was raised by a mom who is a chef which cultivated my love for cooking and baking. I grew up in the Pacific NorthWest and moved to the island a little over two years ago. I am also very passionate about the outdoors, specifically the water, which is one of the main reasons I moved out here. I got my BA in Cultural Anthropology at the Western Washington University. I have been working as a Registered Behavioral Technician for more than two years. I am currently aiming to get my masters in ABA Behavioral Health which focuses on creating an individualized learning plan for students with ASD while also ensuring the client and the environment are as safe as possible for the teachers and students in the classroom. I enjoy interacting with kids of all ages. Every child is different and I love learning about their interests and dislikes, as I believe this is extremely helpful when building a good rapport. I think it is important for kids to learn, explore, and have fun while being safe; that is my main goal as a childcare provider. As a mom of a three year old I can understand it is most difficult to trust someone with your baby or babies which is why I really value great communication on both ends. I feel this will create the best experience for all parties involved. I look forward to working with you, mahalo.
Jade Dennis
Hello Hello! My name is Jade Dennis. I am a recent college graduate from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). I am planning to pursue my masters in Speech Language Pathology at Emerson College. Since graduation, I worked extensively to get a “real life” understanding of the field. My goal is to help others by promoting communication. My childcare experience includes working for various families; I have been babysitting full time post graduation. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, and educational learning. I use arts and crafts for educational teaching. I believe in laughter, patience and active moving. In college, I ran track and field. I partook in events such as Girls on the Run where I volunteered by setting up equipment and timing athletes for a 5K distance. This run for girls ages 3-8 is aimed to empower girls past the inequalities that present themselves. Additionally I’ve been a part of “Day in the Life of A Student Athlete” where I voluntarily mentored inner city children on the opportunities in continuing education.
Bailey Alexander
Aloha families! My name is Bailey Alexander. I moved to the island about a year ago after graduating from the University of Redlands in Southern California. My degree was in Public and Women’s Health and I minored in Sociology. During my four years at the university I gained a passion for Midwifery and hope to open a birthing center of my own one day. As for now I plan on getting my Doula certification in the fall. My ideal workspace is being with babies and their mothers in order to be of assistance to both their mental and physical health. My childcare experience has started from a young age, I’ve always taken care of and looked after my two younger brothers which eventually led to me starting a babysitters club with a close friend when I was 13. As I got older I started to take on more of a nanny role with families. I loved that this job included responsibilities like taking the kids to school/practices, helping with homework, prepping meals, housecleaning, and putting the kids to bed. While I’m with the kids I always make sure we have fun activities planned such as crafts, baking, going to the park, swimming, story telling, and playing with toys. I try to incorporate some of my passions and hobbies too such as roller skating and practicing meditations/yoga poses. My favorite thing about childcare is feeling like I’m tapping into my inner child and exploring imagination with the kids I’m with.
Cameron Conlon
As much as I love art, I love people. Working as a teacher, nanny, and camp counselor, I always find joy in conversations with people. I am very enthusiastic about meeting new people and making new connections. Painting full time the past 4.5 years, I am confident my work ethic is one of my strongest attributes and I know the importance of a solid routine, always looking for more time to paint. Living in a smaller city like Duluth has taught me the importance of being an active member in my community. I have been working with kids for 17+ years. Four of those more recent I was a live-in nanny for a family in DC and a family in Oahu (both included full time new born experience). I worked as a summer camp counselor for a residential YMCA camp (ages 7-17 ) for 6 summers in Okoboji, Iowa. I have water, lifeguard and CPR experience and knowledge. Being in art school for almost 10 years allowed me to spend lots of summers with kids, including car pool nannying where I was in charge of several kids (for multiple families) called “Camp Cam.” I taught English in Italy at an Italian elementary school for 6 months (while attending art classes) and spent several years at the Great Lakes Academy of Fine Art teaching kids courses and drawing camps on weekends. I am currently a full time professional oil painter at a gallery in Waikiki and look forward to babysitting assignments when I can! I love meeting kids from all over the world and I always have an open mind, big imagination, creative games and art supplies!!!!
