Stephanie Liu
Aloha! My name is Stephanie, and I would be honored to take part in helping your child create fond and lasting memories of their visit to Hawai’i! I have the following degrees: BA from University of California Santa Barbara (Sociology and Education Major), MS from Johns Hopkins University (Elementary Education), and MA from New York University (Higher Education and Student Affairs). As a former K-12 educator, I have worked with a wide range of kids. I previously taught middle school & high school at Pahoa High and Intermediate on the Big Island of Hawai’i, taught kindergarten at Kealakehe Elementary, and have privately sat newborns-infants working with various families for long periods of time. Additionally, I worked in after-school programs. I’ve taught English, Math, Science, History, and Social Emotional Learning. In my profession, I analyzed data and standards, and created learning plans. Making learning fun helps children concentrate and stay engaged. My volunteer experience includes participation at a surfers healing event on the Big Island which took children with autism out into the water. My philosophy working with kids is centered around joy-based learning and leaning into their interests/skills/strengths. My babysitting style is a ‘choose your own adventure type’! I love to connect with children. Some fun facts about me are: I grew up in CA and lived in NYC for a couple of years, arts & crafts is my jam, movement brings me joy (yoga and dancing), and I love the outdoors (hiking & swimming). I’m certified in Yoga Sculpt, as well as CPR for both infants and adults. Please let me know if you have any other questions, & thank you for your consideration as a nanny!
