Shekinah Landicho
Aloha, my name is Shekinah! I graduated at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with degrees in Psychology and Anthropology. In psychology, I took classes that were especially focused on child development and exceptional needs. I have experience volunteering in community family events as well as babysitting for others. I’ve babysat for many families in my community, including a newborn I cared for once a week until he was 1- year old.
Growing up, my family attended a church that I was actively involved in. Once a week for a year, I worked in the church daycare. I cared for infants and children up to 8 years old in the nursery.
My volunteer community experience includes the Children’s Discovery Fair, the Health & Wellness Fair at Leeward Community College, the American Diabetes Association, and the Special Olympics. When I lived in California, I used to help umpire Little League Baseball.
Additionally, I have previously tutored students in math, chemistry and English. Students have ranged from elementary age to college.
Aquatic experiences include working as a lifeguard and being involved in maritime archaeology! Previously, I had worked as a lifeguard at a family water resort for two years. Currently, I hold my PADI scuba diving certification and participate in maritime/underwater archaeology for research and fun! I am also First Aid and CPR certified.
My hobbies include drinking tea, going on adventures, and inline skating! I can be a bit silly, but I’m just a big kid at heart! I look forward to having fun with your family!
