Madison Burt
Hi everyone! I’m Maddie! I’m in my twenties and I recently graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Human Science and a minor in Psychology. I began babysitting for families in Washington, D.C. in 2019 and since then have made many great relationships with families. Unfortunately, moving to Hawaii meant saying goodbye to them but I am so excited to be here! I was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Hawaii only a few weeks ago- I already love it here! I have watched children of all ages (4 months- 14 years old) and have cared for up to 4 children at once. During my time babysitting I love playing sports, doing arts and crafts, cooking/baking and other fun activities with the kids. Most of the time I leave it to their imagination to help plan out what activities we should get involved with. This past summer I worked as a Behavioral Specialist at a school specifically designed for kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities with ages ranging from 10-18 years old. I absolutely loved my job and all the relationships I built with the kids. It made me realize that I want to pursue a career in clinical or school psychology with a specific focus on children! Kids have so much joy and love to offer which is why I love working with them. Their imagination and excitement for the world is incomparable. While I’m in Hawaii I’m volunteering for the RYSE Youth Homeless Shelter as a research assistant. I’m thrilled to see what O’ahu has to offer for me and I cannot wait to meet you all! I look forward to making lasting memories with your kids during their time in Hawaii!
