Lauren Garcia
My name is Lauren Garcia and I am in my twenties. I’m from Peterborough, NH but have lived on island since 2018. I’m a recent graduate from Brigham Young University Hawaii, with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I plan on pursuing my education further and getting a master’s degree. In the future I hope to work as a school social worker providing counseling and other support services to students in need. I have found this line of work to be fulfilling and I genuinely enjoy caring for others. I’m kind, have a loving personality, and a strong work ethic. I started working in childcare when I was in highschool, I was a child care assistant at an afterschool program. Since then I have nannied for several families and have experience working with all ages, ranging from infants to pre-teens. My responsibilities have been diverse, encompassing everything from meal prep and feeding to bedtime routines and overnight care. I’ve assisted with diaper changes, burping, and ensuring the child’s comfort throughout the day. Homework assistance has been a regular part of my routine, helping children with assignments and studying. Transportation, whether it’s driving to school, extracurricular activities, or outings, has been another aspect of my role. Engaging children in enriching activities like arts, crafts, games, and outdoor trips to the beach, parks, or sledding, have been both enjoyable and educational. Additionally, I’ve maintained a tidy environment by incorporating household duties and cleaning into my daily tasks, ensuring a safe and hygienic space for children to thrive in. I am passionate about childcare and fostering an environment where children can learn, develop, have fun, and be who they are in the safest of spaces. Looking forward to meeting you!
