Kristina Subiono
Aloha, I’m Kristina! I have a BA in psychology and a graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu with an emphasis in School Counseling. This field is of great interest to me because I want to make a difference in students’ lives and offer support where they would have none otherwise. I believe in preparing students for their next journey, whether it be college, high school, or just the next grade. Offering a safe space where students can work through challenges ins an important service for our youth. I interned at both the elementary and high school, and had the opportunity to learn about students at all academic levels. My past work experience includes director of Operations as Easter Seals Hawaii Autism Division where I managed the day to day operations of the division. Prior to that, I worked as a Behavior Therapist at Easter Seals Hawaii. I worked with clients aging 3-22 years old. I was trained to implement behavior intervention plans, feeding, and toileting programs. I have worked with children the majority of my life and truly enjoy their company. They remind me that life can be simple if we let it. I have experience nannying and babysitting children 0-22 years old, and multiple children at once. As a nanny for a handful of families, my responsibilities included after school pick-ups and drop-offs for extracurricular activities, academics where needed, and meal prepping. I wanted to ensure that the kids enjoyed their summers so I planned summer fun activities like scavenger hunts, trampolines, and excursions to museums, parks, rock climbing, and the pool. I was with the most recent family I worked with for four years, and had the opportunity to watch their children grow. I believe in having fun based on a child’s interests. Some of my strengths in this include water play, creative crafts, teaching hula, and singing. I was extremely involved with my church’s (King’s Chapel) youth group. I was in charge of organizing fundraisers, camps and dinners for participants,. During my undergraduate program, I volunteered weekly in a kindergarten classroom for a year. I really value the trust exemplified by families when they put their children in someone else’s care. I will do my best to ensure that your children not only are safe with me, but that they thoroughly enjoy their time, and maybe even learn a thing or two. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
