Kristen Jones
Aloha! My name is Kristen. I work with children because I love their energy/heart. They’re so free and curious about what the world has to offer. I too enjoy exploring the world and all its many opportunities for adventure. The mutual desire keiki and I share of living life to the fullest is what tends to invite children into feeling comfortable with me. I love being a mentor to keiki and leading as an example that you can be anything you want as long as you work hard and believe in yourself. Not only am I a nanny, but I’m a teacher as well! I worked at the Montessori school of Maui as the lead after-school teacher for two years. I also created and lead curriculum that taught children ages 3-6 about social skills and self expression through art. I loved every second of it. Since moving from Maui to Oahu, I currently work at a Preschool alongside another teacher, preparing 4-5 year olds for Kindergarten! When nannying, one of my favorite activities to do with kids is taking them to the beach. I grew up on Maui so I learned how to swim at a young age. I had swimming lessons, yet playing at the beach every week has been my main teacher at learning how to be confident in the water. I can dive, tread water, and swim in strong currents very well. If your child LOVES water, art or fort building I’m definitely the nanny for you! Movie nights, hide-n-go seek and nerf gun fights have been my specialty as well, so whatever they’re into, we’ll have fun! I’ve nannied professionally for 6 years, going on 7. As a young teen, I started volunteering in church to help with the various children’s ministry classes (helping keiki ages 2-8). Once I became of age, I started nannying professionally and have loved it since the start! I’m currently working on my CDA credential and enrolling in courses to continue educating myself on child care— you can never learn too much!
