Katherine Lang
Aloha! My name is Katherine, but I go by Kate, and most of the kids I have cared for in the past called me Auntie Katie. I am a student at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa where I play volleyball. I am majoring in Political science with intentions to attend Law School. My dreams are to become a Contractual lawyer for professional athletes, and to begin a non-profit organization that takes care of children with early onset diseases such as leukemia and pediatric heart conditions. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old with my own little company called Mommy’s Helper! Ever since then, I fell in love with spending time with babies and children. I’ve coached numerous children’s aged teams at the high school I graduated from, the volleyball club I belonged to from age 12, and I even had the opportunity to tutor kids that were a few grades younger than I was when I was a senior in high school. My favorite childhood memory is working in the nursery as a volunteer at my church, so I decided to make a career during my college years out of my love for kids. I was on a recreational swim team when I was young and love the water, including surfing and other water sports. I have played volleyball since I was 6 years old and have an active lifestyle, which includes lots of recreational sports such as beach volleyball, basketball and baseball. I’m as happy to be active with kids as I am to be staying in, cooking dinner and watching a movie! I am easygoing and happy to help with whatever activities are preferred.
