Judy Brogle
Aloha! My name is Judy and I had the great good fortune to leave my hometown, New York City,
in 1978 to move to Honolulu. I am the mother of two Eurasian children who were very lucky to
have spent their magical childhoods in this sacred, beautiful place. Childhood is the foundation
on which a child’s social, emotional, wellness and spiritual lives are built. Caring for young
children along their journeys is a joy as well as a privilege. I take your child’s safety very
seriously and am extremely sensitive to their needs and feelings. I am CPR/AED certified and
adhere to all protocols to keep myself and your child safe during the pandemic.
I was one of 6 children who had to learn how to keep my younger siblings clean, safe, and
entertained by the time I was 8 years old. Our family attended Church services where I learned
core values: honesty, integrity, respect, charity. I believe it is my job to model those values for
children so that they may be prepared for the many responsibilities ahead.
My first job at the age of 14 years was at the New York Public Library. Being a book worm, it was
my teen dream job. The children’s librarian always requested me to be assigned to the
Children’s Room. She noticed the way I interacted with children. I found that I could interest
little ones in reading. In 1983 I began reading aloud in public schools throughout Honolulu. I
also write poetry. I designed workshops to teach Middle School students how to express their
feelings in rhyme.
In addition to being a literacy advocate, I am certified by the Institute for Multi-Sensory
Education to teach dyslexic children ages 5-8. I provide private tutorials to support struggling
readers. During the pandemic, I homeschooled two boys, ages 4 and 6 years old. Below is a brief
testimonial from their grandparents.
