Emalata Maka
Aloha ohana! My name is Emalata Maka, but you may call me Ema. I was born and raised on this beautiful island. My B.A. degree is in Pacific Island Studies. I aspire to work in a position where I can help at-risk youth. I am pursuing a career as a social worker or counselor. Im in my mid-twenties and the eldest of 5. However, I have many older hanai (adopted) siblings. I come from a big family, so Ive been around children my entire life. Im a family oriented individual and love children. Ive been babysitting for neighbors since I was 16. Ive sat for children as young as 8 months old. My volunteer work includes tutoring kids at homeless shelters and helping children at the shelters with their homework. I did this for two years. I also volunteered at my churchs summer camp for about 6+ years; I was in charge of activities. I enjoy doing different activities with kids, taking walks with them around the community, having good conversations about their interests, and just having a great time. Im a loving personality, and I love seeing children enjoy themselves. I take a childs safety very seriously, and know that Im being trusted with a parents treasure; so I will do my best to ensure that your children are well looked after. Mahalo!
