Caroline Roser
Aloha! My name is Caroline, and I am very much looking forward to getting to know you and your family! Originally from Maryland, I moved to O’ahu 3 years ago to study Earth Science at the University of Hawai’i after completing a gap year program, where I split time in South Africa, Ecuador, and Cambodia. During this time, I worked with children in many different settings – from teaching English (as pictured, with my class!) and leading summer camps, to providing sewing and acting lessons and organizing many field days! My love of caring for children has only grown since I first started babysitting over 10 years ago for families in my hometown. I am the oldest of 4 children, so I developed a love for caretaking early on. I currently serve in my church’s keiki program as a Sunday school teacher for preschool and elementary aged children. I have experience with newborns up through pre-teens and have practice with responsibilities ranging from diaper changing and making bottles, to fort building, crafting, and playing games! I am confident that I can create an equally fun and safe environment for your children, keeping them entertained and occupied until your return. I grew up in and around the water and have babysat for many families at the pool and on the beach. I am scuba and CPR certified and a very strong swimmer, and if watching your children in one of these settings, will of course practice every safety precaution possible. I have a great ability to stay calm in high stress situations and am confident in my ability to navigate an emergency, if one were to arise. I am proficient in speaking Spanish and while I’m not specially trained in singing or dancing, I’m always down for some karaoke or freeze dance to your kids’ favorite songs! I have also taken a multitude of Hawaiian studies classes and would love to impart some of my knowledge of this special island onto your family during your time here. Outside of school, I work as a silversmith and teach jewelry-making classes to both children and adults! I would consider myself a very creative person, and because of this, I find myself able to make fun out of any situation – with or without any toys available. I have a great love for the outdoors and adventure and spend my free time hiking, diving, and exploring O’ahu. I would consider myself a very loving, energetic, and empathetic person, and for these reasons, I know your kids will have a blast during our time together! I look forward to meeting you soon! ☺
