Anais Parker
Aloha! My name is Anais. I’m attending school and studying biochemistry. I’m in my early twenties, and I am born and raised in Hawai‘i. I’m the third child of four, and have been raised caring for children whether it be family, friends, those in my church congregation, or those in need. I love children and caring for others. I’ve always done childcare for family or people in our neighborhood because we are a tight-knit group. My experience includes a lot of babysitting for my church and our members, for services & date nights, including an 18 month church mission in Irvine, CA. I have been caring for children at group events for Aloha Sitters since 2017. I was quickly identified as having the qualities & skills needed to take on a Leadership position. As the Lead Childcare Provider I bring all the games, toys & crafts to keep as many as 50 children safe, educated & entertained for as many as 26 hours (spread over 3 day events). I follow an educational activities agenda, building the children emotional intelligence, resiliency, character growth, & we have a full anti-bullying campaign I take them through. The activities are disguised as fun, so the kids don’t even realize they are learning until the end. Haha. Having grown up on this island, I know a lot about Hawaiian culture that I can share with kids. I used to work for the Polynesian cultural center as a luau dancer and have danced almost my whole life with my aunty’s dance group. I dance hula and Tahitian. I’ve learned a lot about the land, including taro and poi. Additionally, I surf and love to spend time at the beach. I am Polynesian, Hawaiian, Portuguese, Japanese, Maori (my mother is from New Zealand), and Caucasian. Although I’m not fluent in Hawaiian, I can understand it. I am also patient, loving, fun, and focused on safety. I look forward to working with you!
